free internet + time difference

It’s 1:38 in the morning, Pacific Standard Time.

In a hotel room.

Still awake.

Sad. Lonely.

Strangely though, I find myself looking forward to the start of my senior year:

♥ Only two more semesters and I will be able to follow through with the plans I’ve had since high school
♥ Living off-campus
♥ Ballet class
♥ Concerto contest
♥ Walla Walla Symphony
♥ Actually working on my senior thesis (like I told myself I would do all summer but didn’t)
♥ Christmas vacation XD

I should be in Walla^2 less than 12 hours from now. More updates from there.

Maybe.

If we have internet.

If not, I’ll post from the library.

$#!^.

Forgot my ID at home.

“Mom!!!”

Idiocy at its finest.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas, sorry I’m a little late.

Expect pictures soon. ^_^ I got a new camera (Sony Cybershot DSC-T10)

Almost done with AKP essay. Just have to cut it down and rewrite the final paragraph.

Anyway, back to the subject of this entry, lol. Last night I helped Rod rotate his tires because the front tires were almost worn flat. After washing our hands in the laundry room I tried to cut around the front of his car to throw away the trash. I forgot that my dad had built a short wall to help prevent flooding and in the dark I couldn’t see it so i headed straight into it, whacked my ankle, and crashed to the ground. Rod helped me up and in to the house but my ankle really hurt. Mom grabbed the hot/cold pack and brought it to me while I was collapsed at the bottom of the stairs. Rod carried me upstairs, wrapped my ankle in the ice pack and I fell asleep in my jeans. This morning it felt much better, save a few bruises. God, I’m an idiot. This in addition to burning my thumb while making minestrone soup for dinner. XD

I'm so clumsy

Yesterday, I was slumped in my chair in Japanese and I tried to get up quickly and somehow something got caught under my right thumbnail and broke skin under my nail. Normally it wouldn’t be that big of a deal but I need to put pressure on the pad and tip of my thumb for a number of important things: writing properly, using my cello bow, opening bottles, etc. It also would have been better if I hadn’t had to play Fridays at Four with Pierrot Lunaire Quintet. I went to the Health Center and they just gave me painkillers because they said they couldn’t do anything about it unless it got infected.

That wasn’t the worst of my bad luck though. After dropping of my Spring Commitment form for the IHC (to live in the Japanese house again) and my major declaration form (Asian Studies official will consider dbl major with Music if I don’t get to go abroad for a year) I went to the music building to see if I could still play and while sifting through my music I found it completely missing. I ran/walked home to see if I could find it and I couldn’t so I was very very scared. I called Rod on the way back and hearing him helped me to relax a little…also he’s incredibly lucky because Michelle called me and said that Leora had picked it up by mistake the day before after our rehearsal. There was only one more problem. I needed a cello and it was missing from the cabinet when I returned. Thankfully she had to go to rugby and she didn’t mind letting me use it. Rehearsal went incredibly well and we made it through the performance. It was a lot of fun playing. To think, if Alex had been here this semester I wouldn’t have been asked…

So after the fun I got to go home and help prepare for our Sushi Lounge. The rice was all made but I had to finish the other things to make. First I made stuff for the sushi I was planning. Shoyu sugar tuna, egg, and carrots. The tuna came out wonderfully, better than I had ever made it before and after a few tries with the egg I successfully flipped it in the pan~!!! I couldn’t do much in the way of a knife so Jessica and Shirley were nice and helped me with the prep for the fried rice. After two batches of fried rice with bacon and one with tofu, I still had to roll the sushi. Kevin, having worked at a sushi place in Seattle was the expert and taught me how to roll inside out sushi after he made his smoked salmon/cream cheese/cucumber sushi. It was really fun and I made about 10 rolls. Soon enough people came over. I helped Jessica dress and somehow I was able to tie the obi into a neat little bow. I really should learn how to do that for real. Thankfully mine was the cheat elastic one so that no one needed to help me with it. While helping serve miso soup and mocktails I also snacked on pieces of mochi. It was a really fun two hours. We lighted the room with blue and red rope lights. Kojiro and the two Davids played music for us and everyone really enjoyed it I think. Overall it was very fun. Thankfully it was because we’re planning to do it once more. yay for cooking!

Last night I crawled into bed and watched Memoirs of a Geisha on my Laptop. Rod was with Nikki and watching movies so after I talked to him I went to bed. I woke up at the sound of my alarm at 8:30 then went back to sleep until noon. Checked on my town this morning and played some Zoo Keeper ^_^ My thumb on the other hand is oozing liquid with pressure so thank heavens for the stylus ^-^. I should go pick up some peroxide to clean the hell out of it. Guess that’s on my list of things to do this afternoon. That and food.
