Friday 5: "Shapes"

Yes, I know that it’s Monday but I needed something to get my brain going again.

November 13th “Shapes”

1. What is your favorite shape of pasta?
It depends on the dish, but I seem to like Farfalle (Bowtie) in particular.

2. Which of the Lucky Charms marshmallows is (or was) your favorite?
I never thought about it before. My mother rarely bought me sugary cereals when I was a kid, so every time she bought the 8-box single portion pack I would always eat the box of Lucky Charms first. I always thought the (purple) ‘horseshoes’ and ‘blue moons’ were sad looking because the didn’t really look like anything. The ‘pots of gold’ and ‘rainbows’ were the best; probably because they actually looked like ‘pots of gold’ and ‘rainbows’. Either way, the marshmallows themselves were the best part; way better than the cereal imo.

3. Of people you know who are older than forty, who’s in the best shape?
Probably my dad’s younger brother. He still goes running multiple times a week, does marathons, and sticks to a strict diet.

4. What shape is one of the more interesting scars on your body?
I don’t have that many scars, luckily. Thanks to this question though, I remembered the one I have on my right forearm below the elbow from a terrible rug burn. The shape itself is not that appealing…it looks kind of like a jellybean; but I remember that it was much larger and looked disgusting for at least two weeks. I think the best way to describe it was “juicy.”

5. Of a human’s internal organs, which you think has the most interesting shape?
Lungs look like a pair of folded wings, which is awesome~

Friday 5: "What's It Take?"

September 18th “What’s It Take?”

1. What does it take to get you to grab the mic and sing in a karaoke room?
Money to go karaoke xD. No convincing necessary.

2. What does it take to get you to give up a whole Saturday to hang out with people you don’t like?
Good food and ample distraction; I don’t dislike anyone in particular anymore :)

3. What does it take to get you out of bed without your hitting the snooze button?
Christmas; at least when I was younger. Now, I’d say that I get up when I have to do something I’m looking forward to or anxious about in the morning: First day of school, test, work, or new place, breakfast, etc. When things become routine, I start to get lazy and need more sleep.

4. What does it take to get you to take someone else’s turn at a really unpleasant task at work or home?
Lunch. Nah, just kidding. I mean, food helps, but I’ve come to understand that I work for praise and appreciation. It makes me happy, and even the worst things worth it in the end.

5. What does it take to get you to eat something you really dislike?
I’m getting better just eating what is put in front of me, however I just can’t seem to predict my body’s reaction :/

Friday 5: "Tolerance"

I can’t believe that it’s been almost 2 years since I’ve done one of these; here’s the one for last week.

August 28th “Tolerance”

1. How’s your tolerance for alcohol?
I see no moral issue with the drinking of alcohol besides the fact that one must still be responsible for their actions under the influence. Drunk people are funny : ) As for me however, I try not to drink although I do on special occasions. I’d be passed out before you know it.

2. How’s your tolerance for noisy neighbors?
As long as I can fall asleep I don’t see a problem. There was the exception of the family that I lived next door to in Walla Walla last year. They had loud, yappy dogs and relationship problems, but in all honesty, it’s usually the neighbors who have problems with us. I do my best to be considerate of the hours *normal* people keep, but again we all know that the term “normal” is vastly overrated.

3. How’s your tolerance for physical pain?
Sometimes high, sometimes low. It all depends on my level of emotional involvement and my sensitivity to the situation at hand.

4. How’s your tolerance for intolerant people?
Low. Why should anyone tolerate intolerance?

5. How’s your tolerance for bad music?
I don’t get it. What kind of music is bad? Music is an importance expression of culture, created by different people with different tastes infused by their beliefs and systems.

Friday 5: "Sing of Happy"

Okay, technically this is last week’s one. Still, I haven’t done one in a long time and this can be kept relatively short so I thought, ‘why not?’ ;) Also this week’s one isn’t up and it’s already Friday for me.

1. What’s your favorite song about growing up?
Growing up? What?

2. What’s your favorite song about cars or driving?
Niko – Speedway. I can still remember Braeden trying to keep dancing while Rod was singing his own version.

Friday 5: "Tex"

A little late, but here we go ^_^

1. Whether you’ve ever been there or not, what are your thoughts on Texas?
“Everything’s bigger in Texas” or so people say. Texas seems like one of the states that contributes to the stereotypical view of a unique American culture; any diversity that exists goes unnoticed by the nation. A majority of people only recognize Texas as extremely hot, the “Lone Star State”, a big state, or for being the southernmost state. They have guns and ranches and are close to Mexico. Oh and don’t forget George W. Bush.
(I haven’t actually ever been to Texas before, but have family and friends living/attending school there and know there is at least some diversity out of the general media propagated context.)

2. Who was the last person you sent a text message to? If you’ve never sent someone a text message, is there some reason?
The last time I sent one it was to Rod. I just wanted to let him know what time my concert was and that I would call at intermission. I didn’t realize till now however, that the “smart” text input recognized 4663 as “home” not “good”. XD I rarely send messages to anyone else; Mom saves money that way.
